VENN Collaborative is a boutique planning and landscape architecture studio. We find what makes a place genuinely distinctive, then design so it thrives, for the land, the community, and the people who live it every day.
genius loci /jē·nē·əs lō·sī/ noun.
The distinctive spirit or character of a place.
Every VENN project begins by finding it.
Every place has a genius: the rare mix of nature, history, culture, and connection that makes it unlike anywhere else. Our work starts by recognizing it, and never stops protecting it.
Great design doesn't pick between ecological, cultural, and economic value. It finds the overlap, and builds there. That's the idea in our name, and the discipline in our process.
Diverse perspectives, honest listening, and creative rigor, distilled into strong, cohesive solutions.
Nature, culture, history, views, and connections. We balance, nurture, and celebrate the things a place can't get back.
Nature-based solutions, water conservation, low-impact development, and green infrastructure, built in, not bolted on.
Ecosystems, infrastructure, economics, health, and equity, designed to hold up and adapt over decades.
Places that restore, connect, teach, and inspire, so quality of life is the outcome, not the tagline.
Thriving environments that strengthen community and elevate the human experience.
Scott is an award-winning landscape architect who designs for what makes places unique, and pushes beyond sustainability to leave environments, communities, and experiences better than he found them.
His portfolio spans communities, resorts and private clubs, parks and trails, downtown redevelopment, civic spaces, and large-scale infrastructure across the western U.S. and internationally. He's a longtime advocate for meaningful stakeholder engagement, weaving public voices directly into the planning and design process.
"I'm fortunate to collaborate with talented, creative people to build places where others can experience nature, find peace, connect, and be inspired."
